D8 & D10 Thursday Results: Phoenix Juniors Win; GCVI Gaels Sweep

A couple of games combined between the above leagues, so I thought I'd combine into one post here....

D8:  Junior

Resurrection 27, St. David 24
Looks like these two teams, along with St. Benedict, will be the three teams that will challenge for the D8 title.  Celia McGlynn netted 15 points in the win for Rez, while Bobbi-Sue Hentges (7) and Maggie Daly (5) topped the Celtic scoring.

D10

Guelph CVI 55, Centennial 49 (SENIOR)
Four Gaels ended up in double figures on Thursday, leading GCVI to a hard-fought win over Centennial --- Hanna Chidwick (15), Katie Strongman (12), Jamie Young (12) and Ijoema Stanton (11).  Hannah Newman had a game-high 18 for the Spartans, with Lexi Tibbets adding 9 and Chloe Runge contributing 8.

Guelph CVI 44, Centennial 40 (JUNIOR)
Sydney Wilson knocked home a game-high 18 as GCVI won this battle of two clubs that started the season with losses on Tuesday.  Emma Korol (16) and Emma Cain (8) had the high efforts for the Spartans yesterday.
