Senior JHSS Tournament Set To Tip This Afternoon

Jacob Hespeler in Cambridge will be hosting their annual tournament today; I've heard it's a junior-senior affair as they have the two full gyms over there --- more to come when I get the junior draw but I have the senior one at this point to pass along.

Brackets indicate current "CWOSSA ranking".

Friday - 1st Round Games
3:00pm:  (4) Jacob Hespeler vs. Pauline Johnson
4:30pm:  Galt vs. Kitchener St. Mary's 
6:00pm:  (HM) Grand River vs. Kincardine DSS
7:30pm:  (5) Bluevale CI vs. Centre Wellington

Saturday Games
Consolation Semifinals:  9am & 10:30am
Championship Semifinals:  Noon & 1:30pm
Consolation Final:  4:30pm
3rd Place Game:  6:00pm
Championship Final:  7:30pm

....wide range of teams and the "best" first-round matchup would look to be Grand River against Kincardine.  Though GRCI enters that one as a strong favourite, KDSS is no slouch --- they were up 8 on WCSSAA school Elmira DSS at halftime in a recent tournament game before falling in the second half.  The Rens definitely can't take them lightly.

As for a "tournament pick", I'll take JHSS over Grand River in the tournament final.  Given that those teams played a great game yesterday, if that comes to fruition it may be one that's worth checking out.
