Not bad for an opening night in the WCSSAA league, with only 1 incorrect selection and a 6-1 record heading into today's games.
There shouldn't be too many surprises today, but then again there is always "upset potential" early in the season as some teams gel quicker than others.
YTD: 6-1 (.857)
Here's a look at my selections for these 3:30pm starts:
Galt (0-1) at Bluevale (1-0)
My Pick: BCI by 36
The Knights will move to 2-0 today at the expense of the Galt CI Ghosts.
Jacob Hespeler (0-1) at Grand River (1-0)
My Pick: JHSS by 14
With the Hawks not yet at full strength roster-wise (for another game or so), the opportunity certainly exists for a possible upset. That said, I expect the Hawks' to use their size to their advantage in this one and come away with the win.
SJAM (0-1) at Southwood (0-0)
My Pick: SSS by 15
A rematch of a first-round game at the Eastwood tournament last weekend; I'll take a similar result but think it'll be a bit closer this time.
Elmira (0-1) at WCI (1-0)
My Pick: WCI by 29
Not sure if Alex Klein will be suiting up for WCI in this one, as she has another NCAA D-1 visit on the schedule for this weekend. That said, the Vikes will still have enough to get past Elmira handily at home.
Huron Heights (0-1) at Cameron Hts. (1-0)
My Pick: CHCI by 31
The Gaels should handle the Huskies at home --- provided they aren't still celebrating their big win against JHSS the other day.
Preston (0-1) at WODSS (1-0)
My Pick: WODSS by 22
The Crusaders are certainly a "darkhorse" this year in WCSSAA; I look for them to move to 2-0 at the expense of the Preston Panthers.
Forest Hts. (1-0) at Glenview Park (0-1)
My Pick: Forest Hts. by 25
Blair McNaughton and the Trojans should pick up win #2 today, this time on the road in Cambridge.
KCI (1-0) at Eastwood (0-0)
My Pick: KCI by 18
The youthful Rebels will put up a fight, but don't quite have enough offensive weapons to keep up with the KCI Raiders.
