The SJAM Highlanders got a 25-point performance from guard Theshawn Berry and routed the Toronto Emery Eagles by a 76-46 final at the Junior Rimrocker today. Jueul Sarpong had 17 for Emery.
The win moves the Highlanders to 1-1 in pool play, and keeps them with an outside chance of advancing to the playoff round. The top 2 teams in each pool advance.
Bishop Mac falls to Top-Ten Oakwood
The Bishop Mac Celtics, meanwhile, were not quite so lucky in their second game against Toronto Oakwood----a top 8 team in the GTA. The Celtics fell 67-45 to Oakwood. Michael Clouthier had 10 points for Bishop Mac in the loss.
Bishop Mac will play Ajax Notre Dame today at 5:10pm. A win would likely mean that the Celtics would advance to the playoff round.
