D8: Wednesday Results

No surprises in the 5 games that composed the junior and senior D8 schedules yesterday.  Here's how it went:

Senior

Resurrection 66, Monsingor Doyle 29
My Pick:  RCSS
The Phoenix cruised past the 'Stangs at home with three non-starters leading the way --- Adam Schneider, Patric McGlynn and Mark Radcliffe all had 7.  Uzair Khan and Manny Singh had 12 each for MDCSS.

St. Benedict 61, Rockway 26
My Pick:  SBCSS
The Saints had three players in double digits en route to the victory --- Kueth Geng (17), Josh Edwards (10) and Jesse Sawyer (10).  Steve Veltri had 10 and Jordan Fayez 8 for the Flames.

Senior D8 Standings
1.  St. Mary's 4-0 
T2.  Resurrection 3-1
T2.  St. Benedict 3-1
T4.  St. David 1-3
T4.  Mons. Doyle 1-3
6.  Rockway 0-4 

Junior

St. David 69, Woodland 36
George Dumitru poured in 21 and James McBride added 11 as the Celts improved to 4-1 with the victory.  Shane Clarke had a nice effort for the Cavs with 18, while Nate Timmerman contributed 8.

Resurrection 40, Monsignor Doyle 31
Monsingor Doyle used a 14-5 fourth quarter run to close a 35-17 game (after 3) within single digits late, but ran out of time against Rez.  Thomas Hunter (8) and Mac Smith (7) led the way for Rez; Sebastian Grasso and Ryan Stafford had 6 each for Doyle.

St. Benedict 40, Rockway 26
Aaron Zammit was the lone player in double-figures, leading SBCSS with 11 points, while his teammate Vickan Geokdjian had 6.  Connor Huxman had 8 for the Flames in the loss.
