WCSSAA: Thursday Picks

YTD:  18-5 (7-1 Tuesday), .782

Not quite a full schedule of games today, as today's potential marquee matchup (JHSS vs. BCI) has been rescheduled on the senior side with the Hawks travelling to Florida this weekend for a tournament.

Still, there's a couple good games to take a look at, so let's get right to it.  Note that any ranking reflects the team's overall CWOSSABasketball.com "top 10 rank" from last Friday.

KCI (1-3) at #2 Forest Heights (4-0)
My Pick:  FHCI by 23
I think that the Forest Heights Trojans will come out strong in this one, provided they aren't already looking ahead to scheduled games next week against Grand River (in a potential battle for first place) and WCI.

Waterloo-Oxford (2-1) at Preston (3-1)
My Pick:  WODSS by 7
A match-up that I really like between two "AAA" schools that are in a race to represent WCSSAA at CWOSSA.  This game will potentially go a long way to aiding one of these team's chances.  I'll go with the Crusaders after their impressive performance on Tuesday.

Southwood (1-3) at #4 Grand River (4-0)
My Pick:  GRCI by 33
The Rens have too much firepower for the Southwood Sabres to handle in this one.

Huron Heights (2-2) at #9 Cameron Heights (2-2)
My Pick:  CHCI by 16
I like the Gaels to continue their strong surge before the Christmas break with a home win today --- provided they can control the Huskies' Sean Samuel.

Elmira (0-4) at SJAM (0-4)
My Pick:  SJAM by 16
One team gets their first win here - despite being banged up, the 'Landers should win at home.

Galt (2-2) at WCI (3-1)
My Pick:  WCI by 3
Two teams that (on paper) seem to match-up fairly well.  Both have size (6'7" Jack Simmons - GCI, 6'6" Dani Elgadi and Malcolm Piazza - WCI) and solid guard play.  I'll take the Vikes with the homecourt advantage, but this should be the "game of the day".

Eastwood (0-4) at Glenview Park (1-2)
My Pick:  GPSS by 2
A game that could go either way, and I'll give the edge again to the homecourt club in a close one.
