WCSSAA Selections - January 5th, 2010

Let's see if 2010 will bring some more successful picks, or if teams will enter Tuesday games with a bit of rust.....

WCSSAA Senior Record: 24-8 (75%)
WCSSAA Junior Record: 26-6 (81%)

Keep in mind that Tuesday's games are actually 'make-up' games for previously scheduled December 10th tilts. However, game times have been shifted ---- so senior games will be starting at 5pm (junior games go at 3:30).

Hard to say how good the Vikes really are. Are they one of the top two teams in WCSSAA and deserving of a CWOSSA berth? I didn't think so entering the season, but time will tell. They do have some size to match up with the Knights, but the Knights should improve to 5-0 here.

Cameron Hts (2-2) at Eastwood (1-3)
My Pick: Cameron
Line: CHCI by 17

Look for Stefan Arezina to continue his strong play as the Gaels extend their win streak to 3.

Grand River (2-2) at SJAM (3-1)
My Pick: SJAM
Line: SJAM by 12

I think the Highlanders have too much firepower for the Rens, especially on their home floor.

Forest Heights (2-2) at Waterloo-Oxford (1-3)
My Pick: FHCI
Line: FHCI by 21

The Trojans jump back above .500 with a win on Tuesday

Huron Heights (1-3) at Glenview Park (0-4)
My Pick: HHHS
Line: Huron Hts by 10

Big game for the Huskies if they have playoff aspirations. I think they keep the Panthers winless.

Elmira (1-3) at Southwood (3-1)
My Pick: SSS
Line: SSS by 27

No problem for the Sabres here. Southwood to roll.

Jacob Hespeler (2-2) at Galt (1-3)
My Pick: JHSS
Line: JHSS by 5

Close call here --- toss-up goes to the Hawks, but we'll see who is more ready after the holiday layoff.

Preston (2-2) at KCI (3-1)
My Pick: KCI
Line: KCI by 12

The Panthers are maybe the surprise team in WCSSAA this season, thanks in large part to Jeff Robinson. That said, I look for Arben Kalaba, Darnell Simpson, Tristan Ruddock and the rest of the Raiders to pull through on Tuesday.
