WCSSAA Senior: Tuesday Results & Standings

Here's Tuesday's WCSSAA Senior Results below.  I went 6-1 with my picks; unfortunately (for me, anyways) I had picked EDSS in my original post but after some injury updates I switched to FHCI before gametime.  So, congrats to the Lancers for continuing to roll even without Lydia Frey.

Here's what went down league-wide:

Waterloo 55, Bluevale 13
The "Battle of Waterloo" wasn't much of a battle this time around, though the Knights were dealing with some injury issues.  Lindsay Taylor (12) and Alyssa Shortt (11) paced the Vikes, who were probably also well prepared after a weekend of stiff competition.  Amy Shinkar led BCI with 5.

Cameron Heights 47, Eastwood 40
In what was arguably the biggest game of the day, the Gaels kept rolling with a big win on the road.  They can bget points from a number of sources, and this time it was Camille Gardner who led the way with 15, while Erin Robbins chipped in 12.  Michelle Hudyn had a game-high 19 for the Rebs, while Caitlyn Schlegel was also in double figures with 10.

Galt 52, WODSS 29
The Ghosts continue to move along smoothly in their hunt for a home playoff game.  Liz Phillips (15) again led the way for GCI, while Brittany Hutchens and Jessie Lund kicked in 6 each.

Elmira 38, Forest Heights 20
The Lancers really did the job on the defensive end, and held FHCI star Blair McNaughton to 9 points (Sara Potter also had 8 for FHCI).  Elmira's offensive attack was led by Kaitie Martin (9) and Tammy Freeman (8), as they get a big win without Lydia Frey in the lineup.

Grand River 57, SJAM 30
You knew that the Rens were better than their 0-3 record (although playing GCI, WCI and KCI to start the year is a pretty tough schedule!), and they get their first win against SJAM.  Aileen MacLellan (18) and Esther Peters (13) provided a solid one-two effort that outscored the entire Highlanders' team.  Payton Thiel led the way for SJAM with 8 points.

Preston 38, Glenview Park 29
A close game between these two rivals goes to Preston.  Kelly McCulloch (11) and Kirsten Leach (11) were the leaders on this night for PHS, while GPSS received 10 from Courtney Grosse and 9 from Emily McLean.

Southwood 33, Jacob Hespeler 22
A big win for the Sabres on the road, as they even their record at 2-2.  Maddie Brundage and Nicole Barnard had 11 each for SSS; Sarah Guttin and Jessica Heustis contributed 6 each for JHSS.

KCI:  Default Win over HHHS
