D5 Tuesday: Top-Ten Senior Teams Post Victories

Over in Brantford on Tuesday, both "top ten" D5 senior basketball teams posted victories during league play.

CWOSSA #9 North Park handed St. John's a 58-41 loss, with Matt Minutillo netting 23 points in the win.  Adrian Mendoza led the Eagles with 22.

CWOSSA #6 Assumption, meanwhile, was dominant in a 64-25 win over CWOSSA #19 Brantford CI.  The Lions led 36-6 at halftime and cruised home from there, with three ACS players in double figures --- Andre Toic (16), Mike King (15) and Austin Tlustos (14).

At this point, the Trojans and Lions seem to be on a collision course to eventually meet in the championship finals.

For reference purposes, some other early results in league play have been:  Assumption 61, Pauline Johnson 43; Brantford CI 60, St. John's 48; North Park 54, Paris 24; Assumption 71, Paris 22; and St. John's 51, Pauline Johnson 50.

There was also a junior game between "top 10" teams yesterday, which saw #6 St. John's defeat #8 North Park, 46-31.
