Junior: Landers Victorious at CWOSSA Hoopla Tournament

It was a weekend of firsts at the annual "CWOSSA Hoopla" 16-team tournament.

For starters, the SJAM Highlanders lived up to their CWOSSA #1 ranking over the weekend, taking home the title (their first since 2005) at the annual "CWOSSA Hoopla" 16-team tournament.

The 'Landers went 5-0, defeating Waterloo St. David 41-36 in the championship final.

The tournament also showed that parity may again be the name of the game in CWOSSA Junior Boys basketball, as the team they defeated in the finals, St. David, lost their opening game before rebounding to win their next three en route to the finals.

It was the first time (that I can remember, anyways) a team dropped their opener and made the tournament's championship final.

Actually, 4 of the tournament's 8 quarter finalists rebounded from an opening round loss to win their second game.
