Senior: Knights-Vikings Classic This Weekend

It's a 12-team affair this coming weekend for the annual "Knights-Vikings Senior Boys Basketball Classic" this weekend, co-hosted by Bluevale & WCI.

There are 7 of my 20 currently-ranked CWOSSA teams participating -- (#2) SJAM, (#4) Grand River, (#5) St. James, (#12) Resurrection, (#13) WCI, (#14) KCI, and (#16) Forest Heights, along with Huron Heights, who are eying a move into the rankings this week after their win yesterday over KCI.

With 12-teams, organizers have gone with 4 pools of three teams.  The winner of each pool will advance to the semifinals, while the 2nd and 3rd place teams in each pool will play one additional game against a 2nd or 3rd place team from a different pool.

Pool A - SJAM, Forest Heights, St. David

Pool B - Resurrection, KCI, Bluevale

Pool C - WCI, Stratford Central, Welland Centennial

Pool D - Grand River, St. James, Huron Heights

3:30 - Resurrection vs. KCI
5:00 - St. David vs. Forest Heights
6:30 - KCI vs. Bluevale
8:00 - Forest Hts. vs. SJAM

Friday @ WCI
12:30 - WCI vs. Stratford Central
2:00 - Grand River vs. St. James
3:30 - Stratford Central vs. Welland Cent.
5:00 - St. James vs. Huron Hts.
6:30 - Welland Centennial vs. WCI
8:00 - Huron Hts. vs. Grand River

On Saturday, the winners of Pool A and B will play their semifinal at Bluevale (1pm), while the winners of Pools C & D will play at the same time over at WCI.

The third-place game (4pm) and the championship final (5:30pm) are all over at WCI.
