WCSSAA & D10: Quick Picks

There's a full slate of games today in the WCSSAA and D10 leagues, with WCSSAA's games being the first of the season.

WCSSAA
SJAM at Elmira
My Pick:  SJAM
The 'Landers shouldn't have too much difficulty against the Lancers in this one.

ECI at Jacob Hespeler
My Pick:  ECI
Not sure about the status of ECI guard Izzy Nemeth here, but I'll go with the Rebels regardless.

Preston at Grand River
My Pick:  GRCI
The Rens should get past the Panthers with ease in their home-opener.

Galt at Huron Heights
My Pick:  GCI
TJ Lall will pick up his first 20+ effort in league play in a game that I think the Ghosts should win.

Bluevale at WCI
My Pick:  WCI
Always an interesting "rivalry game" between these two.  Vikes have gotten off to a better start, so I'll go with them here.

Southwood at Cameron Hts.
My Pick:  CHCI
I expect improvement from the SSS Sabres this year, but it won't be enough to get past a talented CHCI squad today.

Forest Heights at KCI
My Pick:  KCI
Expecting a tight one here in what is the "game of the day".  Could see either one of these clubs winning this one, but I'll go with the home court Raiders.

D10
CWDHS (1-1) at Orangeville (1-1)
My Pick:  CWDHS
Two teams in league play that should be improved from a season ago.  Orangeville, in fact, has as many wins as they did all of last D10 season.  CWDHS is a veteran club with many 5th years, and I think they'll ride that experience to victory here today.

St. James (2-0) at Lourdes (0-2)
My Pick:  STJ
The tough schedule for the Crusaders continues; this is a club that is certainly better than their 0-2, and possibly 0-3 start would indicate.  That said, still have to go with a Lions team that is looking good in the early stages of the season.

JF Ross (1-1) at Centennial (1-1)
My Pick:  JFR
Rivalry game here, and you never know what can happen (reference their D10 football game earlier this year).  Royals are the favourites, so I'll take them as my pick.

BMAC (2-0) at Guelph CVI (0-2)
My Pick:  BMAC
Looks like it could be a long year for the GCVI Gaels; these teams should continue their respective streaks in this one.
