WCSSAA Senior: Rens Topple Landers; Now Lone Undefeated in WCSSAA

After defeating Cameron Heights, and winning the WCI-BCI Tournament (featuring 9 ranked CWOSSA teams this weekend) without usual starter Brett Parrot, the SJAM Highlanders finally came back down to earth on Tuesday, thanks to the Grand River Renegades.

The Rens, who have never won a WCSSAA Senior Title in school history, are now in the driver's seat as the league's lone undefeated team following a 61-56 win over the 'Landers.

Miro Iliev had 20 and Murtada Khamis 14 for the Rens, while Nedim Hodzic poured in a game-high 27 points for SJAM with Justin Hardy adding 16.

In other action on Tuesday:

Cameron Hts. 64, Eastwood 57
The Rebels gave the Gaels a push, but it was Cameron ahead at the finish.  Nik Farkic had 17 for Cameron, with Raghu Podipireddy and Jackie Do adding 12 each.  Ousmane Kromah had 18 points to pace ECI, with Cham Ujullu notching 16.

Forest Hts. 60, Huron Hts. 35
The Trojans continued their strong start in WCSSAA play with a big win over Huron.  Edwin Antwi led the Trojans with 16 points, while Bilal Ahmed had a game-high 21 for the Huskies.

Galt 69, Elmira 31
TJ Lall's scoring prowess wasn't needed in this one as Galt cruised past the Lancers.  Lazar Stevanovic (18) and Toussef Fancy (14) led the Ghosts; Quinn Docherty had 10 for Elmira.

KCI 59, Bluevale 50
Stefan Simic had 20 and Marko Milvanovic added 9 as the Raiders defeated the Knights, 59-50.  Dylan Arndt led BCI with an 18-point effort.

Southwood 46, Jacob Hespeler 45
It was JHSS' second consecutive 1-point league game, but they ended up on the losing side this time.  SSS was paced by 20 from Moiz Masud, while Brandon Roth (18) and Chad Dempster (16) were the top Hespeler scorers.
