The Bishop Macdonell Celtics are co-hosting their annual tournament this coming Friday & Saturday with the University of Guelph.
Friday games (starting at noon) will all be at Bishop Mac, while Saturday action takes place on the court at the U of G.
There are 5 CWOSSA teams entered, and all 5 have a legitimate shot at making the CWOSSA championship in their respective division. Here's a look at the draw:
Bishop Mac vs. Jacob Hespeler (Noon)
Assumption (Brantford) vs. Etobicoke (1:30pm)
Ingersoll vs. Centre Wellington (3:00pm)
St. Mary's (Kitchener) vs. Kingsville (4:30pm)
To talk about the overall strength of the field, Etobicoke was the #11 seed at "AAA" OFSAA last year, while Kingsville was #4 at "AA" OFSAA --- beating Bishop Mac in the bronze medal game.
Very intriguing, to say the least ---- especially with some of the potential matchups that could result among the AAAA schools (Assumption/CWDHS/St. Mary's). Hopefully, it will help to sort out my AAAA ranking!
As an FYI, Saturday sees the consolation semifinals (9 and 10:30) followed by the championship semifinals (Noon and 1:30). The consolation final is at 3pm, while the championship goes at 5pm.
