WCSSAA Senior Tuesday: Hudyn Blasts in 39 as Rebels Top Panthers

Senior Girls Results - Tuesday, Sept. 20th

Eastwood 64, Preston 54
My Pick:  ECI
Michelle Hudyn pumped in 39 points and Caitlyn Schlegel added 10 as the Rebels get off to a 1-0 start.  As I hinted in my earlier post, it seems like the Panthers will be solid this year and in the running for a home quarterfinal game (top 4 clubs).  Nikea Worrell and Ashley White had 19 each for PHS.

Bluevale 40, Jacob Hespeler 32
My Pick:  BCI
The Knights start off with a win in a tight affair at Bluevale.  Rookies led both teams in scoring --- Natalie Bishop had 11 for BCI and Brooklyn Wright controlled the inside with 19 of Hespeler's 32 points.  Taylor Dennis added 10 more for JHSS while Shannon Curran (9) and Tessa Dent (8) also had solid games for Bluevale.

Cameron Hts. 42, Glenview Park 26
My Pick:  CHCI
The Gaels go 1-0 backed by an 18-point performance from Liz McLellan.  Kayla Batista added 8 more for CHCI, while Alyssa Goodridge and Marja Vandermeulen had 10 each for GPSS.

Forest Heights 53, Huron Heights 33
My Pick:  FHCI
The Trojans equal their win total from a season ago with a 53-33 win over HHHS.  Blair McNaughton (15) and Sara Potter (9) led the way for FHCI, while Emily Bidinosti had 14 for the Huskies.  Rachel Wilkinson also had 9 for Huron.

Elmira 38, SJAM 27
My Pick:  EDSS
The youthful Lancers get off to a nice start in the league, backed by 10 each from Krista Weins and Jessica Reichard.  SJAM received 11 from Malena McCrossan-Moses and 7 from Jillian Reiter.

WCI 52, Southwood 15
My Pick:  WCI
The Vikes roll in their opener, backed by 15 from Lindsay Lessard and 10 each from Lindsay Taylor and Julia Pavlik.  Kayleigh Hutt-Taylor netted 6 for the Sabres.

Galt 58, Grand River 41
My Pick:  GRCI
A bit of an upset here that I didn't see coming (hence the pick).  Of course, I probably wasn't meant to prognosticate perfectly on the opening day.......but congrats to the Ghosts on the win.
