The Hawks got a combined 21 points from Candice (12) and Courtney (9) Wright en route to the win at Bluevale. Julia Curran had 11 and Kailee Sawyer 10 for the Knights.
Cameron Heights 39, Glenview Park 22
Omnia Osman (last name sound familiar?) had 17 to lead the Gaels in this one. Hunter Johns added in 11, while Laura Ranton had 6 and Jocelyn Kivell 3 for GPSS.
Eastwood 37, Preston 18
Caitlyne Rysdale had 10 and Mel Samuel netted 8 for Eastwood as they win their opener. Breanna Johnson (5) and Alex Fisher (4) had the top efforts for Preston.
Forest Heights 32, Huron Heights 22
Linna Liou had a great game to pace the Trojans with 16 en route to the win. Shannon Scott added in 6 more for FHCI, while HHHS received a double digit effort from Katrina Kostecki (10) and 5 more from Jenna Gangle.
Grand River 70, Galt 20
No trouble for the Rens in this one. Mackenzie Miller and Caroline Lorkovic had 14 each in the win, while Molly Bradford (6) and Kadija Mohammed (5) had the top Galt efforts.
SJAM 35, Elmira 28
The 'Landers start the 2011 campaign with a home win, thanks in part to double-digit performances from Bianna Itshishin (13) and Perry Gasteiger (10). EDSS received 10 from Nicole Cressman and 8 from Karley Sider.
WCI 43, Southwood 15
The Vikes rolled on Tuesday night, backed by a balanced scoring effort ---- Danielle Sauve (10), Kaylee Anagnostopoulos (8), Olivia Bender (8), and Isabella Kellerman (6). Cali Doran led Southwood with 8, while Kirsten Lynch had 4.
WODSS 41, KCI 16
Fresh off a semifinal appearance last year, the Crusaders appear to be ready for a deep playoff run again this year. Grade 10 star Madison Horst had 16 for W-O with Tess Pettigrew adding 8 in the win. KCI received 8 from Kelsey Dawe and 6 from Alia Hazineh.
