The WCI Vikings posted a trio of double-digit victories over the weekend en route to taking the title at the annual early season JF Ross invitational tournament.
The Vikes got off to a great start by derailing the host Royals 52-27 on Friday afternoon, and followed that up on Saturday with a 61-41 win over Sarnia St. Christopher in the semifinal (Lindsay Taylor 18, Lindsay Lessard 14).
The championship final started a bit slower for the Vikes, who led by only 4 at the break but were able to pull away from St. Thomas Aquinas to a 57-43 win. Lessard contributed 20 while Alex Klein had 18 in that win.
