WCSSAA Thursday: Mark's Picks

The first week of the WCSSAA schedule wraps up on Thursday with (of course) another full slate of games.

The JHSS Hawks are the recipient's of today's "bye win" over WODSS and will even their mark at 1-1.

As for the actual games on the hardcourt today (all at 3:30pm), here's a quick look:

Bluevale (1-0) at KCI (1-0) **Game of the Day**
My Pick:  KCI
Should be a pretty entertaining game over at KCI today, as we find out how the Raiders will make out without a trio of their key players from recent years (Kate MacTavish, Barbara Robertson, Skye Johns).  I'll give the edge to the Raiders by single digits but wouldn't be surprised to see the up-and-coming Knights pull out an upset here.

Grand River (0-1) at Glenview Park (0-1)
My Pick:  GRCI
I look for the Grand River Renegades to get back in the win column today at the expense of the GPSS Panthers.

SJAM (0-1) at Preston (0-1)
My Pick:  PHS
Assuming the Preston Panthers have gotten over a hard-fought loss to Eastwood on Tuesday, they will take care of the SJAM Highlanders today at home.

WCI (1-0) at Huron Heights (0-1)
My Pick:  WCI
The Huron Heights Huskies will get a rude welcome back to the WCSSAA league at the hands of the WCI Vikings today.  Expect to see WCI's bench get a lot of minutes in this one.

Cameron Heights (1-0) at Galt (1-0)
My Pick:  CHCI
The Ghosts posted the surprise of Tuesday's schedule, which was much needed for them with their killer schedule upcoming (CHCI, PHS, WCI, BCI).  I don't think they'll quite have enough to get past Liz McLellan and Cameron today, but the Ghosts have proved me wrong once so far, so we'll see.

Forest Heights (1-0) at Southwood (0-1)
My Pick:  SSS
Should be a tight game and the Sabres will need to handle Blair McNaughton in order to pick up the "W".  I'll give them the edge here with homecourt.

Eastwood (1-0) at Elmira (1-0)
My Pick:  ECI
This game could be closer than you think, but look for the Eastwood Rebels to be ahead at the finish.

YTD WCSSAA Picks:  6-1 (.857)
