The Resurrection Phoenix and the St. Benedict Saints were clearly the top two teams in the D8 Junior circuit this past season.So, it comes as no surprise that those teams combined for four of the five members of the D8's all-star team, announced yesterday by D8 officials.
Resurrection, who took home the silver "AAAA" CWOSSA medal, placed two grade 9s on the first-team, forward Jama Bin-Edward and PG Krissia Vasquez.
The Saints, meanwhile, put the D8's leading scorer Afifa Salaad and forward Laura Ivits on the first team. St. Mary's forward Alexis Stoyakovich was the other first-team selection.
Second-teamers included Victoria Barroso (MDCSS), Lauren Darrell (PRDG), Megan Goar (SDCSS), Brooke Mulder (WCHS), and Jamie Torrance-Perks (RMC).
All teams were guaranteed one player on either the first or second team.
