Sarah Schulz helped lead the Resurrection Phoenix to their second consecutive D8 senior title.For her efforts, she was also awarded the D8's MVP award by league officials on Thursday.
Although she was the league's leading scorer, the contributions of her teammates were also recognized as well, as Rez paced the selections by having 4 players named to the 10-person all-star squad.
Celia McGlynn joins Schulz on the first-team, while fellow starters Kelsey Caza and Ellen McGowan were both named as second-team all-stars.
Youth was certainly served as three of the five first-teamers are only in grade eleven and will return next year.
Alongside Rez's McGlynn, Kirstin Hofstee (Woodland) and Kayla Leusink (SBCSS) were also grade elevens on the first-team. Beth Zebib, a forward from St. Mary's, was the other first-team selection.
Second-teamers aside from the Resurrection ones mentioned above included Bobbi-Sue Hentges of St. David, Catherine Zafera from St. Mary's, and Dana Milani of St. Benedict.
