Yes, Mike Pereira.
The grade 12 forward pumped home 20 points and 10 rebounds, including the game-tying basket in the dying seconds of regulation and the go-ahead basket in overtime as the Resurrection Phoenix came from behind to defeat the St. Mary's Eagles 68-64 in overtime tonight.
Pereira's performance wasn't lost on the Rez faithful in attendance, who serenaded him to the chants of "M-V-P" as he picked up his D8 championship plaque.
Jeff Rodrigues had a huge game as well for Resurrection, putting in 15 points including 3-for-3 from behind the arc.
Ben Bankazo led the Eagles with 18, Alex Thompson had 16 and Isaac Lance 12.
The RCSS seniors and SMHS juniors will now represent the D8 at next week's CWOSSA tournament, co-hosted by those schools.
More to come momentarily on both games.
