WCSSAA Junior: Thursday Results

The SJAM Highlanders continued their dominance of WCSSAA opposition on Thursday afternoon, defeating the previously unbeaten Galt Ghosts by a 54-29 score down in Cambridge.

Kate Moran poured in 18 points and Madison Sherman added 10 more for the winners, while Juley Dunlop (11) and Rachel Clement (6) were the high scorers for Galt.

The 'Landers moved to 7-0 on the season with the win.

Jacob Hespeler is still undefeated as well (6-0) after a hard-fought 32-26 win over Huron Heights.  The Hawks were able to contain HHSS' scoring sensation, Jamila Beckford, to just 8 points while Charlotte Clifford poured in 16 and Maddy Adams added 6 for the Hawks.

Michelle McCarthy also had 8 for the Huskies.

In other action Thursday:

Elmira 25, Preston 17
A low-scoring affair goes the way of the home team, with Jaclyn Wideman pacing the Lancers with 8.  Hailey Evelyn scored 7 for Preston.

Bluevale 52, Forest Hts. 10
The Knights get back in the win column with a victory over Forest Heights.  Avery Webster had 18 while Becca Sanchez contributed 12 for Bluevale; Deszerae Chanthabourg had 6 for the Trojans.

Cameron Hts. 33, Grand River 18
Important win for the Gaels here as they took this match-up of 2-4 teams.  Zoe Hoyte and Tamara Grahovac had 12 each, while Angelica Lloyd led GRCI with 8.

WODSS 41, KCI 19
The Crusaders posted another big win on Thursday, backed by a nice 19-point effort from Rachel Beitz.  Madeline Woolvett added 9 for WO, while Syd Deckert led KCI with 8.

Eastwood 33, Glenview Park 22
The Rebels picked up their third win of the season at home over Glenview.  Danielle Gardiner had 13 and Emma Miller 6 for the Rebs, while Chuchu Oyual led Glenview with 9.
