YTD: 48-7 (.872)
The Bluevale-WCI rivalry in girls' basketball has been pretty decent over the years, and Thursday's addition should be another solid chapter in its history.
This year, the Vikings (6-1, 5th) and the Knights (7-1, T-3rd) are among a logjam of five perfect or one-loss teams that have distanced themselves by two games over the 6th place squad (Elmira, 4-3).
One of these teams will lose out in the game of musical chairs and miss out on a first-round bye, as well as the resulting home quarterfinal game that comes with it.
As for today's game, it should be a tight one over at Bluevale (3:15pm). Both teams have drastically different looks from a season ago, but I think the Vikes still have the slight edge here. WCI by 4.
Here's a look at the other six games Thursday:
WODSS (2-5) at Jacob Hespeler (7-0)
My Pick: JHSS by 27
The Hawks should soar to their 8th straight victory today at home over the Crusaders.
Huron Hts. (1-7) at KCI (2-5)
My Pick: KCI by 18
This is the first of a stretch of very winnable games for the KCI Raiders, so they'll need to take full advantage to improve their playoff seeding. I see them starting with a "W" here today.
Forest Hts. (0-7) at Southwood (4-4)
My Pick: SSS by 28
After a couple of tough games, the Sabres will get back in the win column today at home.
Grand River (7-0) at Preston (1-6)
My Pick: GRCI by 34
The Rens will continue their winning ways at the expense of the Preston Panthers.
Eastwood (1-6) at Galt (3-4)
My Pick: GCI by 13
The steadily-improving Ghosts --- who started the season 0-4 --- can make it four straight wins and I think they'll do just that at home against Eastwood.
Cameron Hts. (7-1) at Elmira (4-3)
My Pick: CHCI by 22
The Lancers shouldn't be overlooked, but the depth of the Gaels should get it done here on the road.
