WCSSAA Senior: Rens Survive Battle of Unbeatens

It wasn't easy, but they'll take it.

The Grand River Renegades are now one of two remaining undefeated teams in WCSSAA play after a hard-fought 50-49 road win over the Cameron Heights Golden Gaels.

Nancy Michael led the way for Grand River with 11, while Tara DeBoer added 10.  Hunter Johns (14) and Alex Smith (11) were the Cameron high scorers.

The win moves Grand River to 6-0, while the Gaels drop to 6-1.

Having already taken out the WCI Vikings and Cameron (Jacob Hespeler and Grand River don't play in the regular season this year), the most serious challenger to a perfect season for the Rens would appear to be the Bluevale Knights, on October 23rd.

The other undefeated squad is Jacob Hespeler (6-0), who bested Huron Heights 59-25.  Candice Wright had 21 and Kendra Dennis 14 for the Hawks, while Kiana Chin was tops for Huron with a 10 point effort.
