WCSSAA Thursday: Undefeated Rens, Gaels Set To Square Off

The "Game of the Day" on today's WCSSAA Senior Girls' schedule is a no-brainer.

Two undefeated teams --- the Grand River Renegades (5-0) and the Cameron Heights Golden Gaels (6-0) will do battle this afternoon (3:15pm) at Cameron Heights.

Both teams feature an exciting scoring duo capable of going off for big performances on any given night:  Nyamuoch Teny & Nancy Michael (GRCI), and Nina Farkic & Hunter Johns (CHCI).

Although their roster isn't blessed with numbers, the Renegades do seem to have a bit more rotational depth than the Gaels, but Cameron is playing at home, where they are always tough.

Pretty much a toss-up here, but I'll go with Grand River by 4.

Also today, we have:

WODSS (2-3) at KCI (1-4)
My Pick:  KCI by 8
The Crusaders are steadily improving, but the Raiders are desperate and can't afford another loss here.  I'll go with them, especially at home.

SJAM (3-3) at Galt (1-4)
My Pick:  SJAM by 9
Look for the SJAM Highlanders to get back on the "plus side" of .500 with a road win today.

Jacob Hespeler (5-0) at Huron Hts. (1-5)
My Pick:  JHSS by 27
The Hawks should remain as one of WCSSAA's two undefeated teams following Thursday's action.

Forest Hts. (0-5) at Bluevale (5-1)
My Pick:  BCI by 34
Another tough match-up for the Forest Heights Trojans here; Bluevale to win.

Preston (0-5) at Elmira (2-3)
My Pick:  EDSS by 12
The Panthers are certainly better than their record would indicate, but I like Elmira to get the win here.

Southwood (4-2) at WCI (5-1)
My Pick:  WCI by 21
Tough stretch for the 4-2 Sabres, as they play Bluevale, WCI and Cameron Heights in succession.  Look for the Vikes to pick up a home win here.
