Team Previews:
Owen Sound CVI - Owen Sound (BAA Champions)
Past CWOSSA Senior Championships: None
Key Players: Ben Singbeil, Matt Monk
OSCVI has flown a bit under the CWOSSA radar this year up in the BAA. They might be a top-10 club overall, but it's hard to tell based upon some of their results. They have defeated Kitchener Forest Heights (BCI/WCI Tournament) and have a terrific one-two punch in big man Ben Singbeil and Matt Monk. They'll also have some added incentive in seeking the first ever CWOSSA title in OSCVI history......at least according to the CWOSSA website.
Our Lady of Lourdes - Guelph (D10 Quarterfinalists)
Past CWOSSA Senior Championships: 2005 (AA)
Key Players: Mike Finoro, Sharieff Peru
The Crusaders are looking to improve upon a disappointing end to their season (losing in the quarterfinals of the D10 playoffs). An OFSAA berth is definitely not out of reach, especially with one of the better one-two punches around in Mike Finoro (D10's leading scorer) and Sharieff Peru.
Not sure if the Crusaders will be moving any members of their very good junior team up to senior for CWOSSA and/or OFSAA if they qualify, but regardless, Lourdes' key to victory will be on the defensive end. They can definitely score, but can they stop teams enough to be ahead at the end? That question will be answered this weekend.
Norwell DSS - Palmerston (D4 finalists)
Past CWOSSA Senior Championships: None
Key Players: Matt Girodat, Andrew Plonk, Nakeno Amiri
Norwell has been playing their best basketball of the year down the stretch. They defeated Centre Dufferin in their league semifinal before dropping a decision to Westside SS in the D4 championship game.
They are double-digit underdogs (and then some) against OSCVI, but in a one game scenario you never know what might happen.
Kincardine DSS - Kincardine (BAA Semifinalists)
Past CWOSSA Senior Championships: 2004 (AA)
Key Players: Steve Young
The Knights dropped a respectable 54-39 decision to OSCVI in the BAA semifinals ---- and are looking for a good showing here to make up for that.
Steve Young has been the Knights' top scorer during the regular season, and will be key if KDSS hopes to spring an upset over Lourdes in their semifinal.
Overall Comment
I look for an OSCVI/Lourdes final here ---- I would consider it an upset if KDSS or NDSS got through but stranger things have happened. OSCVI would have to be a slight favourite in the final, and I think might have enough to get their first CWOSSA title here.

Picks
Semifinal A - OSCVI over Norwell
Semifinal B - Lourdes over KDSS
Final - OSCVI over Lourdes
