#8 Huron Heights 78, #1 Forest Heights 74
OK, firstly, big props to the Huskies on the win. Clearly the rest of the team has bonded together in light of their roster absences and they were able to take out the Trojans on the road.
I'd be curious to hear from those who were at the game.
At any rate, Sean Samuel stepped up with a huge 27 point performance. Tyler Kosub chipped in 10 for HHHS. Javon Masters (23) and Juwan Miller (22) had their usual steady games for FHCI but it wasn't enough tonight.
#6 Grand River 47, #3 Jacob Hespeler 38
Another "upset", at least in terms of the rankings. This one definitely not as big, but big for the Rens as they look to get to the CWOSSA championships (and earn a medal for the 3rd straight year). Filip Cvrkalj was held to just 9 points, but Chuder Teny had 16 in the win. Jason Quiring was held to 17 for JHSS.
#2 Cameron Heights 62, #7 SJAM 49
Like the Trojans, another preseason favourite is done for the year. The Gaels got 20+ point performances by Nem Simic (21) and Vedran Dmitrovic (20) to earn the victory. Quinn Turner put in 17 for SJAM.
Semifinals:
#4 Waterloo vs #8 Huron Heights
#2 Cameron vs #6 Grand River ---- winner gets automatic CWOSSA "AAAA" berth
CHCI & WCI will advance to AAAA OFSAA unless Grand River beats Cameron.
If they do & WCI beats HHHS, WCI & GRCI qualify.
If they do & HHHS beats WCI, CHCI & GRCI qualify.
Big Saturday ahead!
