No surprise at all in any of the D10 Senior playoffs as all the home teams advanced on Tuesday.
(1) Centennial 83, (8) Orangeville 47
My Pick Was: CCVI by 19
That's more like the Centennial we know --- blowing out ODSS. The Spartans were able to withstand a 26 point effort by ODSS' Gordon Dewar and come away with the win. Rob House led a balanced Spartan attack with 15 points.
(2) St. James 47, (7) Bishop Mac 38
My Pick Was: St. James by 17
A bit closer than maybe the Lions would have liked, but they get the job done. Ryan Higgins was held to 10 points in this one, but teammate Alex Campagnolo chipped in 13 in the victory. Patrick Clouthier led the Celts with 18 points.
(3) JF Ross 72, (6) Guelph CVI 52
My Pick Was: JFR by 14
Ryan Cook poured in 27 points as the Royals took one step closer to qualifying for AAAA CWOSSA. Jon Warnholtz had 28 for GCVI in the loss.
(4) Centre Wellington 51, (5) Lourdes 37
My Pick Was: OLOL by 7
Upset pick didn't work out here, as the Falcons controlled things at home. Mike Finoro and Sharieff Peru were held in check (18 & 9 respectively), which obviously helped the CW cause. Justin MacNamara was the Falcons top scorer with 15 points.
Semifinals - Thursday, February 18th
(4) Centre Wellington at (1) Centennial
(3) JF Ross at (2) St. James
AAAA Qualification Note - CWDHS, JFR, and CCVI are all 4A schools. Unless CW beats Centennial, JF Ross and the Spartans will be the CWOSSA reps.
