D10 Senior Semifinals
#1 Centennial 54, #4 Centre Wellington 52
The Centre Wellington Falcons gave it their all this afternoon before falling to the CCVI Spartans by a 54-52 final.
Sounds like a tremendous game and it potentially could have knocked the Spartans right out of CWOSSA depending on the result of the other semifinal (St. James/JF Ross).
For CCVI, Jay Francis had 18 and Rob House 14 to help the Spartans escape with the win. Tim Francis had 16 for CW.
D10 Junior Semifinals
#3 Centennial 53, #2 Lourdes 51
You kind of had a feeling this might happen the way the Spartans have been playing. They put it all together on Thursday night and squeaked past Lourdes by a 53-51 final.
Ed Gray put home 22 points in the victory, while Aleks Kaludjerovic added 13. Jordan Trimble had 15 points for Lourdes. It also looks like the Spartans held Lourdes star Chris Watson in check, as he finished with just 7 points.
The Lourdes loss means that they are out of the running for the AA CWOSSA berth (which now goes to Bishop Mac).
#1 Bishop Mac 82, #5 JF Ross 65
If you liked offense, this was the game to check out. Mike Friesen had another solid effort for Ross (30 points) but it wasn't nearly enough to take out the Celtics.
Michael Clouthier (21), Alex Quintieri (14) and Ben Morris (12) were the top guns for Bishop Mac.
