On the Recruiting Trail.....

Time to begin to shift our focus a bit as we wind down the basketball season. A few notable careers have ended, such as Taylor McNaughton (FHCI Trojans) last night.

We'll do our best to keep you up to date on where people are going, but as always please send information to cwossabasketball@hotmail.com.

This weekend should prove to be a big weekend over at Cameron Heights CI. Always nice to see a few OUA and OCAA coaches out at "Semifinal Saturday".

Speaking of local universities, there's word that Bluevale '09 grad Srdjan Pejicic may be looking at attending Wilfrid Laurier University next year and playing for the Golden Hawks. We'll see what progresses there.

Meanwhile, looks like KCI's athletic high-flying swingman Darnell Simpson is getting some OCAA attention. Last night against Southwood, a member of the Humber Hawks coaching staff was in attendance to see Simpson in action. He didn't disappoint, scoring 15 points in the win. Simpson has to be considered one of the most improved players in CWOSSA this year and with his athleticism and wingspan has a pretty big upside ---- looks like Ontario Colleges are beginning to notice.

FYI - the Humber Hawks currently have a trio of CWOSSA players on their roster (Milan Tosic/Eastwood, Darnell Garrick/FHCI, Mac James/GCVI).

No further information on the current favourite to win the Mike Moser Award: Bluevale's star guard Stefan Cvrkalj. That said, keep in mind that he is only in grade 12 and eligible to return for a 5th year of high school. Cvrkalj is an A+ student in the classroom and will have no problem "making the grade" at whatever program he chooses.
