Junior: Luke Santi Championship Results

Consolation Final: Lourdes (Guelph) 55, St. Patrick (Sarnia) 44
This game was not as close as the score would indicate. Lourdes was up about 25 after three quarters, then substituted liberally in the fourth. St. Pat's was able to score some points down the stretch to make this one respectable.

Max Raab from Lourdes had 12 points and was named as a tournament all-star.

Bronze Final: Resurrection (Kitchener) 60, Bishop Mac (Guelph) 55
The Phoenix got off to a slow start in this one. Mitchell Wood carved up the Phoenix defense with several acrobatic drives and the Celtics were able to establish a 28-19 halftime lead.

The third quarter belonged to Resurrection. After the Celts led briefly by double digits, the Phoenix were able to charge back. The Celtics started to slow things down and get slightly away from what had enabled them to build the lead. The Phoenix had a couple of steals, including a steal & layup from Tyler Bartley right before the third quarter buzzer to cut the BMac lead to 2.

In the fourth quarter, Rez centre Cory Kenning was able to establish himself inside against a relatively undersized Bishop Mac frontline. Rez guard Adam Schneider hit a 3, and the Celts struggled to find their range in the 4th. These factors combined enabled Rez to build a 57-50 lead with just over 1:00 to go.

Down the stretch, the Celts played the foul game and they were relatively successful ---- Rez made only 3 of 8 attempts. However, Bishop Mac only managed 5 points during that time and the Phoenix were able to hold on to the upset by a 60-55 final, and become the first CWOSSA team to knock of Bishop Mac this season.

Cory Kenning (RCSS - 17) and Mitchell Wood (BMac -18) were the leading scorers. Both players were also named to the tournament all-star team.

BMAC (55): M. Wood 18, A. Quintieri 9, J. Kendall 9, M. Clouthier 5, A. Depieri 3, G. Bennett 3, S. Young 2, O. Brombal 2, Z. Visentin 2, W. Olson 2.

RCSS (60): C. Kenning 17, T. Bartley 15, A. Schneider 10, A. Ellis 8, A. Russell 6, M. Radcliffe 2, P. Zrebiec 2.

Gold Final: Holy Trinity (Oakville) 69, St. Christopher (Sarnia) 61
This was a very entertaining back and forth game the entire way. Mike Rocca put up 22 first half points for St. Chris despite incredibly tight coverage. Trevon McNeil for Trinity put up 15 first half points as well. St. Christopher lead 32-30 at half time.

The Titans limited Rocca to 5 3rd quarter points and took the lead 48-40 going into the 4th. Despite the 8 point advantage St. Chris managed to go on a 20-12 run to tie the game at 60 points courtesy of a 11 point 4th quarter by Rocca.

Holy Trinity pulled ahead in the fourth as a result of some key stops, missed St. Christopher attempts & clutch buckets by McNeil down the stretch to go back up by six. They then executed a well designed stall offense to score at will and also played great defense against Rocca in the last three minutes of the game (who still scored 38!) to win it.

St. Chris had to resort to fouling to get the ball back as HT managed the clock very effectively to close out the game and finish up 8 points.

STC: 18-14-08-21 = 61
HT: 18-12-18-21 = 69

Holy Trinity (69): Trevon McNeil (26), Anthony Pate (11), Christian Douglas (9), Nolan McKenzie (9), Regis Ivanuikas (8), Mitch Atkinson (4), Mitchell Sawras (2).

St. Christopher (61): Mike Rocca (38), Cole Moriarity (7), Jeremy Harris (6), Owen Mainye (5), Dan Moore (3), Aaron Dunn (2).
