(5) Eastwood 51, (12) Preston 29
My Pick Was: ECI by 27
Eastwood played their starters most of the way through, pulling them out when they were up about 30 with 7:00 to go. Hopefully (for them), that serves them well for their upcoming test against WCI. Terel Christian (16) and Djordje Govedarica (16) paced the Rebels, while Wes Meertens was the lone Panther in double digits with 10.
(6) Grand River 62, (11) Bluevale 52
My Pick Was: GRCI by 22
Looks like Grand River might have spread the minutes around a bit in this one, but then again I wasn't there so I can't say for certain. Filip Cvrkalj led their balanced attack with 12 points. Mike Stafford had 10 for BCI.
(7) SJAM 54, (10) WODSS 33
My Pick Was: SJAM by 19
Looks like a bunch of Highlanders got to see action in this one, as Connor Bradley, Theshawn Berry and Quinn Turner are nowhere to be seen among the leading scorers. Sam Woods (9) and Yannis Carayannopoulis (6) led the way today. Nic Mehring and Todd Hoover had 5 each for the Crusaders.
(8) Huron Heights 43, (9) Glenview Park 29
My Pick Was: HHHS by 6
The Huskies get it done on the defensive end for a change --- holding Andrew Squires to 7 points. Sean Samuel had 14 for the Huskies, while Alex Deadman added 12.
Quarterfinals - Thursday, February 18th:
(8) Huron Heights at (1) Forest Heights
(7) SJAM at (2) Cameron Heights
(6) Grand River at (3) Jacob Hespeler
(5) Eastwood at (4) Waterloo CI
....still some work to be done in determining the "AAAA" qualifiers; however, as a result of today's results, Jacob Hespeler, Huron Heights and Glenview Park have qualified for AAA CWOSSA.
