Play gets under way today (Friday) at Noon over at St. David with the annual Timmy Rose Senior Boys Basketball tournament.
The first-round schedule is as follows:
St. David (Waterloo) vs. Waterloo-Oxford (Baden), Noon
Christ the King (GT) vs. Governor Simcoe (St. Catharines), 1:30pm
Huron Heights (Kitchener) vs. Corpus Christi (Burlington), 3:00pm
East Elgin (Aylmer) vs. Our Lady of Lourdes (Guelph), 4:30pm
Of the out-of-town teams, Georgetown's Christ The King is 1-6 in Halton Tier I, while Corpus Christi is 2-5 in that same league.
Governor Simcoe, who beat North Park by 2 points at the Heinbuch Tournament in November (and ended up winning the Consolation Division at the tournament) would appear to be the favourites on paper.
