WCSSAA Junior Girls: Tuesday Results & Standings

Here's the rundown from Tuesday in the WCSSAA junior league:

Bluevale 55, Forest Heights 20
The Knights continue to roll through the WCSSAA schedule, improving to 7-0 on the season.  Their balanced attack on Tuesday was led by Tess McIlwraith (8) and Sarah Hamm (7).  The Trojans received 7 from Mackenzie Ainley and 5 points from Cass Wettlaufer.

Glenview Park 41, Galt 20
The Panthers pick up an important 2nd win of the season and stay in the hunt for a playoff berth.  Jocelyn Kivell led the way on this afternoon with an 18-point effort, while teammate Desiree Thompson was also in double figures with 10.  Galt received 4 each from Courtney Davis and Megan White.

Cameron Heights 28, Grand River 25
In a battle between two 5-1 clubs (entering play), the Gaels pick up a big win in a low-scoring affair.  Cathy Bekhyt put home a team-high 13 points for Cameron, with Shama Saleh contributing 8.  Leticia Skeete had 13 for the Rens.

Jacob Hespeler 52, Huron Heights 37
Like the aforementioned Bluevale Knights, the Jacob Hespeler Hawks remained undefeated on Tuesday night as well.  They were backed by Naomi Adams' 14 points, as well as 12 from Taylor Dennis.  Emily Bidinosti had 15 for the Huskies, while Megan Parsons added in 7 for Huron.

Southwood 38, KCI 28
An important win for the Sabres, who improve to 3-4 while dropping the Raiders to 4-3 on the campaign.  Three Sabres had 8 or more points --- Abby Todd (9), Cali Doran (8) and Emily Weaver (8).  For KCI, Christiana Koebel led all scorers with 13 and Isabel Mills knocked in 8.

Preston 46, Waterloo-Oxford 43
The Preston Panthers received an absolutely huge effort from their star, Ashley White, as she knocked home 33 points in this contest ---- and the Panthers needed every one of them to outlast a very strong W-O squad.  Madison Horst had 18 for the Crusaders, with Rebecca Payne adding in 11.

SJAM 42, Eastwood 38
In a battle between two 1-5 teams, the Highlanders get a big win to keep their playoff aspirations on solid ground.  Jillian Reiter had a nice outing for SJAM, hitting for 21 points, while Sam Fowler added in 11.  For ECI, Lori Stankiewicz (12) and Reihanne Scott (11) had double digit efforts.

Elmira 45, WCI 26
The Lancers keep the Vikings winless during the 2010 season, while at the same time remaining unbeaten themselves.  For Elmira, Bailey Bond had 13, Jocelyn Lubert 11, and Krista Weins had 11 as well.  The Vikes were led by Sarah Coghlin with 11 points.
