WCSSAA: Senior Girls Tuesday Results & Standings

And here's the rundown from Senior Girls action from WCSSAA on Tuesday afternoon.  For the first time this season (I think), I was able to pick all games correctly to finally get back above the 85% mark overall.

Bluevale 34, Forest Heights 26
Looks like the Knights got a bit more than maybe they bargained for against the (now) 1-6 Trojans, but the important thing is that a win is a win in the standings.  Shannon Curran was tops for the Knights with 12, with Elissa Dent putting in 9 and Amy Shinkar adding 8.  Blair McNaughton hit for 12 Trojan points and Jocelyn Kesso had 6.

Galt 46, Glenview Park 27
The Ghosts get an important win to stay in the thick of things for a home playoff game.  The Phillips' girls, Liz (11) and Christine (8) led the way while Justine Schwier had 6 for Glenview.

Cameron Heights 56, Grand River 47
Looks like this game lived up to its billing and ended up being a high-scoring affair.  Erin Robbins helped Cameron get away with the victory by pumping in 27 points; Siki Jez added in 12 for the Gaels.  Grand River received 21 from Aileen MacLellan, while Kailey DeBoer chipped in with 13.

KCI 48, Southwood 31
The Raiders get right back to their winning ways in Cambridge --- Kate McTavish again led the way, this time with 13 points.  For Southwood, Nicole Barnard had 10 and Maddie Brundage scored 7.

Preston 49, WODSS 41
The Panthers get an important road win to improve to 5-2 on the season; Nikea Worrell scored 21 in the win with Kirsten Leach adding in 14.  Three Crusaders, meanwhile, scored 11 points --- Shelby Hofstetter, Spencer Mitchell-Becker, and Carly Kowalik.

Eastwood 49, SJAM 31
It looks like Michelle Hudyn wasn't too happy about being replaced at the top of the CWOSSA "15+ club" --- one day after losing top spot, she regained it by outscoring SJAM by herself (35 points).  Erika Gardner also had 6 points for ECI, while Malena McCrossan-Moses put in 11 to lead the Highlanders.

WCI 34, Elmira 18
In a defensive battle out in Elmira, the Vikes improve to 7-0 on the season in a game that saw just 52 total points scored.  Julia Pavlik led the way for WCI with 13 points, while Linsday Taylor adding in 6.  Vanessa LaChance and Kaitie Martin had 6 each for the Lancers.

JHSS:  Default Win (HHHS)

WCSSAA Senior Standings
1.  WCI 7-0
T2.  KCI 6-1
T2.  Eastwood 6-1
T2.  Cameron Heights 6-1
T5.  Bluevale 5-2
T5.  Preston 5-2
T7.  Southwood 4-3
T7.  Galt 4-3
T9.  Elmira 3-4
T9.  SJAM 3-4
T11.  Jacob Hespeler 2-5
T11.  WODSS 2-5
T11.  Grand River 2-5
------
14.  Forest Heights 1-6
15.  Glenview Park 0-7

....while quickly looking ahead to Thursday's games, we have several important games to try and help sort out (or further cloud) the playoff picture:

Preston (5-2) at Southwood (4-3)
....a Preston win would be key for them with a brutal schedule (WCI and KCI) on tap next week.

WODSS (2-5) at KCI (6-1)
....look for the Raiders to keep pace with (or overtake) the other teams that are currently 6-1.

Grand River (2-5) at Forest Heights (1-6)
....big game in the playoff race.

Jacob Hespeler (2-5) at Glenview (0-7)
....a JHSS win would keep them in the playoff hunt while a Glenview victory

Cameron (6-1) at Bluevale (5-2)
....a big game among two teams currently battling for a first-round bye

Elmira (3-4) at SJAM (3-4)
....two teams tied for 9th, both looking to get in the top 8 (home playoff game).....well still maybe not a "home game" in SJAM's case, of course.

Eastwood (6-1) at WCI (7-0)
....the records should speak for themselves here.
