We'll start with the D10 today:
Orangeville (0-5) at Centennial (4-1)
Pick: CCVI
With all the losses that the Spartans had (to graduation) after last year, I'm sure not too many people would have thought they'd start 2010-11 at 5-1. Yet, a win over ODSS today will put them in that exact position.
Bishop Mac (1-4) at JF Ross (4-0)
Pick: JFR
The Ross Royals will look to maintain their hold on first place in the D10 here today --- I think that this could be close if Bishop Mac plays well but look for Ross to win this one.
St. James (4-1) at CWDHS (3-2)
Pick: STJ
An intriguing matchup since CWDHS always seems to be a tough team at home. I'll pick the Lions anyways, but I may be regretting that choice later.
Lourdes (2-3) at GCVI (1-3)
Pick: OLOL
An important game for both teams --- but the edge goes to Lourdes with Sharieff Peru back in the lineup.
WCSSAA
All Games at 3:30pm except WCI/BCI (2pm)
SJAM (3-0) at Grand River (3-0)
Pick: SJAM
Unquestionably the game of the day in the WCSSAA league today. Both teams have a number of quick guards and match-up very well. I'll give the slight edge to SJAM, but it should be a close one.
KCI (1-2) at Huron Heights (0-3)
Pick: KCI
The KCI Raiders' schedule gets a lot more difficult in the coming weeks, so they'll need this one down in south Kitchener if they hope to put themselves in position for a playoff push. Raiders to get a close win.
Eastwood (1-2) at Cameron Heights (3-0)
Pick: CHCI
These sort of rivalry games can tend to be closer than many would expect, but nonetheless the Gaels are the pick here.
Galt (1-1) at Waterloo-Oxford (1-2)
Pick: WODSS
Both teams have a chance to get their first "real win" of the season (both having "beat" Elmira). I'll take a flyer on the Crusaders who seem a bit better on the offensive end at this point.
Waterloo (3-0) at Bluevale (3-0)
Pick: BCI
Another "undefeated" matchup on Thursday afternoon, and we'll find out if the Vikes are for real. Again, another rivalry game but I like the Knights here.
Southwood (1-2) at Jacob Hespeler (0-3)
Pick: SSS
I think the Sabres are better than their record indicates. They'll get moving back up the standings with a win here.
Glenview Park (1-2) at Preston (0-3)
Pick: PHS
After a very tough opening schedule (SJAM, GRCI and CHCI) the Panthers should get win #1 tonight at the expense of the (other) Panthers.
Forest Heights: Bye Win - EDSS (will improve to 3-0).
