D8 Results: Wednesday, December 8

Junior

St. David 56, Rockway 44
SDCSS:  Tim Baretto-Burns 10, Kevin Heeralall 8
RMC:  Simon Pudwell 12, Nas Sabrie 10

Junior Standings
1.  St. Mary's 2-0
2.  St. Benedict 2-1
3.  Resurrection 1-1
4.  St. David 1-2
5.  Rockway 0-2

Senior

St. David 65, Rockway 38
My Pick:  SDCSS
No trouble here for the Celts who move to 3-1 on the season.  Dan Hummel pumped in 20 for St. David, while Tyson Lavigne added 8.  Steve Veltri had a solid outing for Rockway (16) while Jordan Fayez added 9 more for the Flames.

St. Benedict 62, PRDG 38
My Pick:  SBCSS
The Saints pick up an important road win at PRDG, thanks to 24 from Tyrone Tyndale.  David Nolet continued his very strong play for PRDG, posting his 3rd 20+ performance of the campaign (24 points).

Senior Standings
1.  Resurrection 4-0
T2.  St. Mary's 3-1
T2.  St. David 3-1
T4.  Rockway 2-2
T4.  St. Benedict 2-2
6.  PRDG 1-4

**Note:  Games against Monsingor Doyle (who are playing an exhibition schedule) are reflected in the standings; however, MDCSS does not appear in the latest standings release from the D8.

And speaking of the MDCSS varsity team:

Resurrection (Junior Team) 57, Monsignor Doyle (Varsity Team) 44
The Phoenix trailed 10-2 early but used a 24-9 second quarter to gain control of the game.  Jacob Gilbert and Patric McGlynn had 12 each for Resurrection, while Manveer Singh (10) and Roberto Atwell (9) paced the 'Stangs.  It should be noted that (approximately) about 75% of MDCSS' roster is junior age, which is why the Phoenix sent their junior team down for a more even matchup.
