D10 Finals: Predictions

Today's D10 finals are set to go at the University of Guelph (6pm JR; 8pm SR).

Here's a quick look at the matchups:

Junior:  (1) St. James vs. (2) Lourdes
Season Series:  St. James 2-0
The St. James Lions are set to cap their dominating D10 season and take their second consecutive junior title.  Standing in their way?  The Lourdes Crusaders.

The Gazzola sisters (Chelsey and Brittany), and Ashley Benham are the key performers for the Lions, who are probably in line to be the #1 team at "AAA" junior CWOSSA.

The Crusaders are led by Monica Trimble, Cecilia Hudecki and Madison Vetoretto.  They are a balanced squad that may be able to keep things close today.

That said, look for the St. James Lions to complete their perfect season here today.

Mark's Pick:  St. James by 10

Senior:  (2) Centre Wellington vs. (4) Guelph CVI

The CWDHS Falcons and Guelph CVI Gaels will both advance to next week's CWOSSA "AAAA" championships; however, they have some business to take care of before that tonight at 8pm.

After the season-ending injury to Jaime Janssen, other Falcons have stepped up including Erica McFadden and Chelsea Riepert; essentially, the Falcons haven't missed a beat.

The Gaels feature a solid trio of scorers, including Alysha Warnholtz, Lindsay Thompson, and Sierra McLaren.

This one might prove to be as exciting a final as yesterday's D8 finals.  I'm projecting a close final, but I will take the Falcons to edge the surging Gaels.

Mark's Pick:  CWDHS by 4.
