Of note ---- the junior/senior doubleheader between JF Ross and Centennial was postponed and will be rescheduled. Ditto goes for today's games that were scheduled between Ross and GCVI.
Senior Results
St. James 75, Lourdes 73 (2-OT)
My Pick: STJ
What a game to start the season! These two clubs went at it hard and it took an additional 8 minutes of game-time to settle things --- and that almost wasn't enough!
Sharieff Peru was not in the lineup; the last I heard is that he's still nursing a football injury. Top scorers included Ryan Higgins (28), and Derek Linwood (17) for St. James; Mike Finoro (27), Chris Watson (22) and Jordan Trimble (15) for Lourdes.
Bishop Mac 71, Orangeville 61
My Pick: BMac
The Celts get off to a 1-0 start this season by taking care of ODSS on the road. Patrick Clouthier captured Bishop Mac's first 20+ effort on the year, hitting for 20 on the nose. ODSS received 19 from Kyle Holmes and 18 from Ian Wolfe.
Centre Wellington 49, Guelph CVI 47
My Pick: CWDHS
A big win for CWDHS here, as it's expected to be a battle between these two clubs and Centennial for the 2nd CWOSSA "AAAA" berth in D10 this year. Reid Giondi led CW with 15, while Tristin Lane had 11 and Gavin MacNamara contributed 9. GCVI received 14 from Ervin Uzunovic, 12 from Andrew Wesley-James, and 11 from Bryan Smith.
Junior Results
St. James 70, Lourdes 36
A big win for the Lions to start the year; they are expected to be among the top couple clubs when all is said and done. Zach McClegnahan had 22 to lead the Lions, while Josh MacDonald added 19. Kevin Roche was the lone Crusader in double digits with 10.
Centre Wellington 49, Guelph CVI 41
A great start to the year for CWDHS, as they look to return to CWOSSA after a two-year absence. Braewyn Bird led them on this night with 13, while Marcus von Massow had 10. GCVI received 13 from Jonah Hopkins and 12 from David Wesley-James.
Bishop Mac 84, Orangeville 50
Tons of firepower is still left in the Bishop Mac junior program, that is for sure. They received a 29-point effort from Jesse Kendall, while ODSS had a solid effort out of Justin Levesque (27 points).
