Westside Seniors, Erin Juniors Capture D4 Titles

The Westside Thunder Senior Girls basketball team completed their perfect season in D4 play by defeating the Centre Dufferin (Shelburne) Royals 44-41 on Wednesday afternoon in the D4 championship game.

Rachel Krushnisky poured in 19 points for CDDHS, while Sami Mikiluk (15) and Brooke Rowland (9) led the way for the Thunder.

The Thunder will advance to play a CWOSSA "AAA" qualifier against Guelph St. James on Tuesday afternoon (4pm) at Westside.

In junior action, Erin DHS contained Wellington Heights' (and one of CWOSSA's) leading scorer, Nicole Bauman, holding her to 9 points and WHSS' entire squad to 10 in a 32-10 victory in the junior title match.

Carleigh Walker scored the other WHSS point, while Erin received 10 from Pier Zuk and 8 from Becca Morrison.

EDHS will advance to the "AA" junior CWOSSA championship next week in Guelph.
