The St. John's College Green Eagles (#2 seed at OFSAA "AAAA") are now one win away from a top-four finish as they have advanced to the quarterfinals.
In a game that was tight at halftime, the Green Machine outscored #15 Notre Dame SS of Brampton 43-11 in the second half to take a comfortable 68-32 win.
Kelly Van Leeuwen again led St. John's in scoring, with 19 points. Chenel Johnson had 13 for Notre Dame.
As a result of a first-round upset, the Eagles may have some tough opposition to face in their quarterfinal game. They will play the winner of #4 St. Anne's (Tecumseh) and #7 Bill Crothers (Mississauga) tonight at 7:45pm.
