D10: No Quarterfinal Suprises in Junior or Senior

In D10 action on Tuesday, quarterfinal games in both junior and senior leagues saw the top 4 clubs advance through in both divisions.

In the senior division, #1 Bishop Mac beat up #8 Orangeville 53-21; #2 Centre Wellington held off #7 St. James 48-41; #3 JF Ross cruised past #6 Centennial 51-32; and #4 GCVI got past #5 Lourdes 44-38.

Semifinals feature #1 Bishop Mac hosting #4 GCVI and #2 Centre Wellington battling #3 JF Ross.  Bishop Mac has qualified for AA CWOSSA while the top 2 placers between the other three schools will take the D10's AAAA berths --- essentially, GCVI must beat Bishop Mac in order to qualify since they enter the semifinals as the lowest ranked team.

Over in the junior league, a near upset as #3 Bishop Mac just got past #6 Orangeville 44-40.  Again, great season by the Bears who would have advanced to AAAA CWOSSA with a win.  As it stands, #4 GCVI will enter as the D10 #1 team at AAAA CWOSSA after a 53-38 victory over Centennial.  The Spartans will take the 2nd D10 berth.

Other games saw #1 St. James have no trouble with #8 JF Ross (52-17) and #2 Lourdes beat #7 CWDHS 62-14.

Semifinals on Thursday will see St. James host GCVI, and Lourdes battle Bishop Mac; the latter game will determine the D10's "AA" CWOSSA representative.
