The Grand River CI Renegades defeated some impressive competition over the weekend in the GTA to take the title of the annual "Hoopdome" tournament.The Rens knocked off Pickering HS 50-36 and Pope John Paul II (Toronto) 42-18 in pool play, which advanced GRCI to the semifinals.
In the semis, the Rens took out Bill Crothers SS (47-39) and wrapped things up by beating Notre Dame CSS (Pickering) 34-27 in the final.
Maya Day had 16 points in the final and was named as a tournament all-star, while Grand River's Nancy Michael took home MVP honours.
