The Southwood Sabres are hosting their annual Senior Girls' tournament this coming weekend, and it certainly has a past to live up to after last year's thrilling championship final.
The Jacob Hespeler Hawks, the team that Southwood beat in last year's final, are back for another shot at grabbing the title that eluded them a season ago.
The Hawks are the top-ranked CWOSSA team in this tournament, and appear to be the favourites on paper.
Their biggest competition would appear to lie on the other side of the draw, where the KCI Raiders & Resurrection Phoenix will battle in the best first-round matchup. London Laurier, despite a 2-3 record in TVRAA league play, might be a bit of a darkhorse given a couple of close results against the "top tier" teams in their league.

....consolation semifinals go this evening, while championship semifinals go tomorrow morning. The tournament final is at 4:30pm on Saturday.
