WCSSAA Senior: Qualifying Round Games

(12) Eastwood at (5) KCI
Regular Season:  KCI 47, ECI 27
My Pick:  KCI by 25
Like the junior league, the 12/5 game on the senior side is a game between two teams that played on Tuesday.  The Raiders were at the top of the standings for most of the season, until a tough late-season schedule (and two losses) slid them down to the #5 seed.  They'll move on to the quarters today at home, and likely by a comfortable margin.

(11) Forest Hts. at (6) Grand River
Regular Season:  GRCI 43, FHCI 16
My Pick:  GRCI by 22
The Rens have had some injury issues as of late, being down 1-2 starters at times for their past few games.  Without looking at the injury report, they should still have the depth to get past the Trojans at home today.

(10) Huron Hts. at (7) Cameron Hts.
Regular Season:  CHCI 49, HHSS 46
My Pick:  CHCI by 8
If there's one game to see today, this might be it.  There's some talent on both sides of the ball here, and the clubs battled to a three-point Cameron Heights win a couple of weeks ago at Huron.  Grade 10 guard Nina Farkic has been strong as of late, while Tyshaine Page has provided a consistent outside threat.  Huron Heights isn't deep, but they are balanced, with Katrina Kostecki, Jenna Gangl, Aly Jacobs and company being each capable for double digits on any given evening.  I'll roll with the Gaels at home, but it could be interesting.

(9) Elmira at (8) Southwood
Regular Season:  SSS 47, EDSS 45 (OT)
My Pick:  EDSS by 3
It took a Cali Doran game-winning jumper to win the regular season matchup between these clubs, and in overtime no less.  Again, it should come down to the wire between these clubs but I'll take a flyer on the Lancers to pull out a win for a lower-seeded team on the road.
