D8 Wednesday: Saints' Juniors Receive Scare From 'Stangs

Two games in each of the junior and senior D8 leagues.  One proved to be very exciting.  Here's the rundown:

Junior

St. Benedict 34, Monsingor Doyle 33

The 'Stangs nearly got themselves right back in the playoff picture, but couldn't quite knock off the Saints who improved to 2-2 on the year.  Amber Baetson had a tremendous effort for SBCSS, pouring in 21 points; Kayla Leusink added 7 more in the win.  Doyle's scorers were not reported.

Resurrection 66, Rockway 7

Laura Stern had 12 and Sarah Schultz 9 as the Phoenix rolled over Rockway.  Sarah Brubacher, Samantha Veltri, and Sarah Moslehi each had 2 for the Flames.

My Pick:  RCSS

The Phoenix received a dozen each from Janelle Santi and Marley Neiscier en route to the win.  Steph Veltri had a game-high 13 points, though, for Rockway.

St. Benedict 62, Monsignor Doyle 12

My Pick:  SBCSS

Dana Milani scored 18, while Hilary Ferguson (9) and Alisa Tkaczyk (8) had strong supporting efforts in the Saints' romp over MDCSS.
