WCSSAA Senior: Thursday Results

No real surprises (to me anyways) on Thursday.  The two "big games" on the schedule saw WCI take down Bluevale 45-33, and Jacob Hespeler defeat Southwood 52-40.  Here's the recap:

Elmira 55, Galt 32
My Pick:  EDSS
Jessica Reichard scored 19, Krista Wiens 8, and Julia Frey 7 in an important win for the Lancers.  Suzanna Lam (14) and Milica Stevanovic (10) both had nice double-digit efforts for Galt.

KCI 46, Huron Hts 27
My Pick:  KCI
The Raiders pick up their second straight win at the expense of the Huskies.  Olivia Nelles (13) and Christiana Koebel (8) paced the Raiders, while Emily Bidinosti had a game-high 17 for Huron with Rachel Wilkinson adding 4.

Eastwood 42, SJAM 24
My Pick:  ECI
The Rebels coasted past the Highlanders thanks to 18 from Michelle Hudyn and 10 more from Lindsay Ward.  Malena McCrossan-Moses again led SJAM with 7, while Jillian Reiter had 6.

Jacob Hespeler 52, Southwood 40
My Pick:  JHSS
In a relatively high scoring affair, the Hawks moved to 8-1 on the year and into a share of 2nd place.  Brooklyn Wright (17) and Taylor Dennis (10) topped the JHSS scoresheet, while Southwood's balanced attack was keyed by Maddie Brundage (10) and Nicole Barnard (9).

Preston 57, Glenview Park 20
My Pick:  PHS
The battle of the Panthers goes Preston's way, thanks in part to 15 from Kirsten Leach and 10 more from Taylor Devries.  Alyssa Goodridge (10) and Jennifer Renton (4) were the Glenview top scorers on Thursday.

Cameron Hts 37, Grand River 23
My Pick:  CHCI
In this "think pink" game, Cameron improved to 8-1 while the Rens fall to the reverse record (1-8).  That being said, the Rens nearly pulled out a big upset and they were right there entering the 4th quarter (where they were outscored 14-4).  Liz McLellan had 16 and Tyshaine Page 8 for CHCI; GRCI received 9 from Ana Milanovic and 5 from Natalya Pollock.

WCI 45, Bluevale 33
My Pick:  WCI
WCI's size was a bit much for Bluevale on this afternoon, and they are now the only remaining unbeaten team in the league.  Lindsay Lessard (22) and Lindsay Taylor (10) led the way for WCI, while Sarah Hamm (11), Hannah Fishbein (9) and Shannon Curran (9) led another balanced BCI attack.
