Congratulations to the Monsignor Doyle Mustangs, who have clinched their first CWOSSA "AAA" senior playoff berth in a few years after topping the St. David Celtics 38-24 at home last night.
Marley Gray poured in 13 points in the win, while Leah Flanagan added 8. Amanda Lutz netted 7 for St. David.
The win moved Monsignor Doyle to 4-4, while St. David drops to 2-7. With a 10-game league schedule, the Celts officially cannot make the D8 semifinals.
The other D8 senior action on Wednesday saw St. Mary's improve to 9-0 after beating St. Benedict 47-27. Kaitlyn Schenck had 24 in the win, with Natasha Stoyakovich, Laura Boterman and Celine Sukkel adding 6 each. Dana Milani and Hilary Ferguson had 7 each for the Saints.
