WCSSAA: Thursday Picks

YTD:  59-11 (.843)

It's the second-last day in the WCSSAA regular season today, and we have a bunch of teams fighting for first-round byes, playoff positions, and the final playoff berths.

Here's how today's action shakes down:

Galt (2-8) at SJAM (1-9)
My Pick:  GCI
Galt will clinch a playoff berth with a win over SJAM and a Grand River loss to Elmira.  I look for them to take care of at least half of that equation with a close road win today.

Forest Heights (6-4) at KCI (4-6)
My Pick:  FHCI
Dangerous pick here, as the KCI Raiders are playing very good basketball as of late.  FHCI by single digits, though.

Preston (9-1) at Cameron Heights (8-2) **Game of the Day**
My Pick:  PHS
Game of the day material here, as the teams enter play with a combined 17-3 record.  Although CHCI plays very well on their large home floor, I'll tag the Panthers to squeak through here.  A PHS win would clinch a first round bye.

Elmira (6-4) at Grand River (2-8)
My Pick:  EDSS
The Rens are desperate and better than their record would indicate.  Of course, I'm generally pretty safe with my picks so I'll go with the better team on paper here --- plus, the Lancers are fighting for playoff position and can't afford to lose (especially when it may impact a "AAA" CWOSSA berth).

Southwood (6-4) at Bluevale (8-2)
My Pick:  BCI
The Knights will take out their frustrations from Tuesday's loss on the visiting Sabres.

Jacob Hespeler (8-2) at WCI (10-0)
My Pick:  WCI
The Hawks may stick around early, but the Vikes are just too strong.

Glenview Park (2-8) at Eastwood (8-2)
My Pick:  ECI
Look for the Rebs to win this one, setting up a huge game next Tuesday against rival Cameron Heights.
