YTD WCSSAA Picks: 20-7 (.741)
Today's WCSSAA games will "whet the appetite" for what should be an excellent day of action on Thursday. Thursday's contests will feature a game between two undefeated teams (at present) ---- Bluevale and Cameron, and also feature Eastwood playing WCI along with a couple of intra-Cambridge battles (GPSS/JHSS; SSS/PHS).
Of course, we'll see if any teams are caught looking ahead to some of those key matchups on Thursday when we see the results for these scheduled matchups (all 5pm tip times):
SJAM (0-4) at Southwood (2-2)
My Pick: SSS
After a slow start, the Southwood Sabres are on a two-game mini win streak. I look for that to continue on Tuesday at the expense of the winless Highlanders.
Bluevale (4-0) at Galt (1-3)
My Pick: BCI
Though I think the Ghosts are better than their record indicates, the Knights are playing some great basketball right now and should pick up their 5th straight league win.
WCI (4-0) at Elmira (3-1)
My Pick: WCI & EDSS +36
I'm going to challenge myself with the WCI pick today --- though they will win this outing I'll say that the Lancers give them their closest game of the season to date.
Grand River (1-3) at Jacob Hespeler (3-1)
My Pick: JHSS
The up-and-coming Jacob Hespeler Hawks look to shake off a tough tournament outing in the competitive Gryphon-Celtic invitational; I look for them to get back on track today against GRCI at home.
Eastwood (2-1) at KCI (1-3)
My Pick: ECI
A "must-win" game if the Rebels hope to keep pace with the current undefeated AAAA clubs (WCI, BCI and CHCI). I think they get it done at KCI this afternoon.
Cameron Heights (4-0) at Huron Heights (0-4)
My Pick: CHCI
Look for Liz McLellan's strong play to guide the Gaels to another WCSSAA win.
Glenview Park (1-3) at Forest Heights (2-2)
My Pick: FHCI
After a couple of tight losses to very good teams, the Trojans should get back in the win column today at home.
Bye Win: Preston (will improve to 4-1)
